Large life size oil paintings of disabled athletes tower above the viewer like the legends of antiquity. These extraordinary athletes have been enabled by their disabilities and taken their performance to the most extreme of levels possible.

The title collection of my final year Graduate exhibition at The University of Cape Town, exploring the my difficult relationship with representing South Africa internationally in sport. A relationship brought about by historical privilege, impeded by lack of infrastructure, funding and geographic location, all of which damages the countries athletes while enabling them at the same time.
